Barbara Shourounis acted as Director, Securities Division, Saskatchewan Financial Services Commission from 2009 to 2012 where she directed the operations of the Securities Division to provide protection to investors and played a lead role in developing new securities laws working both nationally and provincially through committees of the Canadian Securities Administrators. Prior to that, she was Director of the Saskatchewan Securities Commission for 17 years. She also worked at Balfour Moss law firm (now Miller Thompson) for 10 years.
Ms. Shourounis has served on the boards of the Saskatchewan Natural History Society, Canadian Nature Federation, and the Regina Multicultural Council. She has chaired the boards of Wascana Home Care and the Saskatchewan Book Awards. She currently serves on the board of the United Church of Canada Foundation and several other boards in Regina.
She holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
