Order
WHEREAS on November 22, 2019, the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (the “MFDA”) issued a Notice of Hearing pursuant to sections 20 and 24 of By-law No. 1 in respect of a disciplinary proceeding commenced against Jose Ireneo Manalastas (the “Respondent”);
AND WHEREAS the first appearance in this proceeding was held by teleconference on February 4, 2020 before one public representative of a Regional Council acting on behalf of the Central Regional Council of the MFDA (the “Hearing Panel”), pursuant to section 19.13(b) of MFDA By-law No.1;
AND WHEREAS at this appearance, the Hearing Panel scheduled a further appearance to be held on February 26, 2020;
AND WHEREAS on February 11, 2020, the Notice of Hearing was served on the Respondent;
AND WHEREAS on February 26, 2020, a further appearance was held by teleconference before the Hearing Panel, and counsel for Staff of the MFDA made submissions to the Hearing Panel with respect to scheduling and other procedural matters;
AND WHEREAS the Respondent did not attend the February 26, 2020 appearance and filed no materials, although properly notified by Staff and the Corporate Secretary’s Office;
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT:
- The Hearing on the Merits shall take place on May 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. (Eastern), in the hearing room at the MFDA offices, 121 King Street West, Suite 1000 in Toronto, Ontario.
