
Alberta Securities Commission dismisses application for review in the matter of Paul Dwyer
April 21, 2023 (Toronto, Ontario) – A Hearing Panel of the Prairie Regional Council of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (“MFDA”), now New Self-Regulatory Organization of Canada, issued its Decision and Reasons (Misconduct) dated January 20, 2022 (“Misconduct Decision”) and its Reasons for Decision (Penalty) dated July 6, 2022 (“Penalty Reasons”) in connection with a disciplinary hearing held in Calgary, Alberta in the matter of Paul Anthony Dwyer (“Dwyer”).
On May 11, 2022, Mr. Dwyer applied to the Alberta Securities Commission (“ASC”) for a Hearing and Review of the MFDA Hearing Panel’s Misconduct Decision and Penalty Reasons, pursuant to section 73 of the Securities Act, RSA 2000 cS-4.
On April 11, 2023, the ASC issued its Decision, dismissing Mr. Dwyer’s appeal. A copy of the Decision is available on the ASC website here.
