MFDA confirms hearing dates in the matter of Harold Backer
August 1, 2018 (Toronto, Ontario) – The Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (“MFDA”) commenced a disciplinary proceeding in respect of Harold Magnus Backer (“Respondent”) by Notice of Hearing dated September 12, 2017, as amended on July 12, 2018.
An appearance in this proceeding took place today by teleconference before a Hearing Panel of the MFDA’s Pacific Regional Council.
Following submissions by the parties respecting procedural matters, the Hearing Panel confirmed that the hearing of this matter on its merits will proceed on August 8-9, 2018, commencing at 10:00 a.m. (Pacific) each day, or as soon thereafter as the hearing can be held, in the hearing room at the British Columbia Securities Commission, located at 1200-701 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, British Columbia. The proceeding will be open to the public, except as may be required for the protection of confidential matters.
