MFDA sets date for motion in the matter of Harold Backer
November 10, 2017 (Toronto, Ontario) – The Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (“MFDA”) commenced a disciplinary proceeding in respect of Harold Magnus Backer (“Respondent”) by Notice of Hearing dated September 12, 2017 (“Notice of Hearing”).
As specified in the Notice of Hearing, the first appearance in this proceeding was held yesterday by teleconference before a Hearing Panel of the MFDA’s Pacific Regional Council.
A pre-hearing motion in this proceeding has been scheduled to take place on January 17, 2018, commencing at 10:00 a.m. (Pacific), or as soon thereafter as the motion can be held, in the hearing room at the British Columbia Securities Commission, located at 1200-701 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, British Columbia. The motion will be open to the public, except as may be required for the protection of confidential matters.
