MFDA Hearing Panel issues Reasons for Decision in the matter of Global Maxfin Investments Inc.

November 13, 2018 (Toronto, Ontario) – A Hearing Panel of the Central Regional Council of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (“MFDA”) has issued its Reasons for Decision dated November 12, 2018 in connection with a settlement hearing held in Toronto, Ontario on August 28, 2018 in the matter of Global Maxfin Investments Inc. (“Respondent”).

In its Reasons for Decision, the Hearing Panel confirmed the sanctions imposed on the Respondent. In particular, the Respondent:

  • has paid a fine of $35,000;
  • has paid costs of $10,000; and
  • shall in future comply with MFDA Rules, 2.1.4, 2.2.1, 2.3.1, 2.5, 2.9 and 2.10 and MFDA Policy No. 2.
