MFDA Hearing Panel approves settlement agreement with Todd Werboweski
May 26, 2017 (Toronto, Ontario) – A settlement hearing in the matter of Todd Sean Werboweski (“Respondent”) was held on May 25, 2017 in Calgary, Alberta before a three-member Hearing Panel of the Prairie Regional Council of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (“MFDA”).
The Hearing Panel approved the settlement agreement (“Settlement Agreement”) between Staff of the MFDA and the Respondent, as a consequence of which the following sanctions were imposed on the Respondent:
- a prohibition from conducting securities related business in any capacity while in the employ or associated with any Member of the MFDA for a period of nine (9) months from the date of the settlement hearing;
- costs in the amount of $2,500; and
- shall in future comply with MFDA Rule 2.1.1.
In the Settlement Agreement, the Respondent admitted that between May 2015 and June 2015, the Respondent obtained and possessed ten (10) pre-signed account forms in respect of two (2) clients, contrary to MFDA Rule 2.1.1.
