MFDA Client Research Report 2022

Today the MFDA released its Client Research Report 2022: An Ongoing Look Into Clients, Members, and Advisors which illustrates the significant role that MFDA Members and their advisors have in the Canadian financial marketplace and builds on the first two client research reports issued in 2017 and 2020.

The Client Research Report 2022 contains data and relevant trends relating to:

  • Canadian client and household demographics by financial wealth, age and investment profile;
  • Average costs paid by clients of MFDA Members;
  • Deposit activity by clients of MFDA Members;
  • Load structures of mutual funds held by MFDA Members’; and
  • Size of advisors’ books of business.

As the wealth management landscape in Canada continues to evolve, it will become increasingly important to remain aware of client circumstances, outcomes and issues that affect Canadian investors.  The data contained in the Client Research Report 2022 will be a key resource to maintain this knowledge and to further help meet the MFDA’s investor protection mandate.
